The Story Behind the Shade
A rosé Champagne's colour is never simply a matter of appearance. Unlike most still rosés, where colour is drawn from contact with grape skins, rosé Champagne can also be crafted by blending a small proportion of red wine into white base wines. This deliberate choice shapes not only its hue, but also its aroma, texture and character.

At Henri Giraud, the colour of the Perpetual Reserve Rosé is the result of one of Champagne's most exacting decisions. A touch of Aÿ Grand Cru Rouge is blended into the perpetual reserve, not according to a fixed formula, but through a choice remade with every blend. Too little, and the wine loses dimension. Too much, and its precision gives way. Henri Giraud walks this fine line with the patience of a house that has crafted wine in Aÿ since 1625, where colour is never the objective, but the natural expression of balance, terroir and time.

IV. A Different Philosophy of Rosé
WHAT MAKES THE HG PR ROSÉ DIFFERENT?
The Perpetual Reserve Rosé was never created simply to add a rosé to the Henri Giraud collection. It was conceived as a new expression of the House's Réserve Perpétuelle, extending a philosophy that has always been rooted in continuity rather than individual vintages.
Unlike a traditional reserve, where older wines are kept separately and blended as needed, a perpetual reserve is never reset. Each harvest is added to the wines that came before it, carrying every vintage forward into the next. Rather than preserving a single moment in time, it preserves continuity itself, allowing the character of the vineyard to grow richer, deeper and more nuanced with every passing year.

The Perpetual Reserve Rosé is crafted entirely from this living reserve, making it unlike most rosé Champagnes, which are built around the expression of a single vintage or a conventional multi-vintage blend. The addition of a carefully judged touch of Aÿ Grand Cru Rouge reveals a more floral expression while remaining unmistakably Henri Giraud. The result is not simply a rosé, but the House's perpetual reserve seen through an entirely new lens.
