A deft but not invisible application of wood sets off ripe aromas of petrol, apple and pear compote, orange peel and a whiff of passion fruit. The delicious, round and seductively textured medium-bodied flavors are quite rich, indeed the mid-palate is borderline creamy, yet there is still good vibrancy on the lightly stony, balanced and sneaky long finish. While this should repay 6 to 8 years of keeping, it's not so compact that it couldn't be approached young if desired.
