Reduction. As is usually the case, the broad-shouldered and powerful flavors possess plenty of size, weight and mid-palate density thanks to the abundant level of dry extract that also coats the palate on the overtly powerful finish. Like the Montée de Tonnerre, this isn't refined but nonetheless, it should amply reward up to a decade of cellaring.
