Sourced from the lesser parcels of the Rothenberg, Hipping and Petthenthal and picked early in September, the 2022 Riesling trocken vom Roten Schiefer displays a golden-yellow color and opens with a clear and spicy/herbal bouquet with light reduction and phenolic notes. Elegant and fresh on the palate, this is a round yet dry and structured Riesling with a quite long, elegant, shiny and saline finish. This 2022 is lean and fresh and should be cellared for at least another year or two, as complex and age-worthy as it is. This was entirely vinified in stainless steel. 11.5% stated alcohol.
