A brooding nose also grudgingly offers up its aromas of plum, black cherry earth and a whiff of humus character. By contrast, the mouthfeel of the middle weight flavors is relatively fine and this impression is enhanced by the presence of evident minerality though this sense of finesse is in marked contrast to the dusty and somewhat grippy finale. This may better harmonize in time but I suspect that there will always be a touch of 'Pommard-like' rusticity even with age.
