The Ultimate Sake: Kokuryu Nizaemon 黒龍二左衙門純米大吟釀
Crafted with Hyogo-grown Yamadanishiki rice polished to an extraordinary 35%, Kokuryu Nizaemon represents the pinnacle of Kokuryu’s brewing artistry. Using a proprietary aging method and delicate gravity-drip pressing (shizuku-dori), this Junmai Daiginjo delivers exceptional elegance and clarity.
The nose opens with refined floral aromas of jasmine and white lily, followed by lush notes of ripe peach, melon, and a touch of spice. On the palate, it is silky and seamless, unfolding layers of gentle umami, pure rice sweetness, and vibrant acidity. A mineral backbone adds lift and finesse, leading to a clean, lingering finish with hints of citrus and spice.
Named in honor of Kokuryu’s founding brewer, Nizaemon is a rare and luxurious sake made in very limited quantities—an exquisite companion to refined cuisine.
Food Pairing: Grilled amberjack with yuzu miso, beef tartare with truffle, dried abalone, or delicate sashimi.
