The 2017 Barolo Riserva Vigna Rionda is lovely, understated and very pretty. Sweet red cherry, kirsch, mint and orang peel emerge, but only with great reluctance. That's probably a good thing for its long-term aging prospects. Readers should not expect an easygoing Barolo by any means.
